How Korean used car auctions work
Every week, Korea's dealer auctions sell thousands of used cars. Before each sale, the auction's own inspectors check every car and publish an auction sheet: a condition grade, a panel diagram showing replaced or repainted parts, mileage and options.
Bidding is open only to registered dealers, so overseas buyers cannot normally bid directly. That is where we come in: as a licensed Korean dealer, we bid for you and handle everything after the hammer falls.
Auction vs. dealer stock — which is right for you?
- Auction: huge weekly choice and transparent inspection sheets; prices are set by live bidding and are often below retail, but never guaranteed.
- Dealer stock (Encar, K Car, Car Manager): buy immediately at a fixed price, inspect at leisure, no bidding risk.
- We search both and recommend whichever gives you the better car for your budget.
How to buy from a Korean car auction through Auto Mina
- Send us your criteria: model, year range, mileage, budget and destination.
- We shortlist upcoming lots and send you photos and the translated auction sheet.
- You approve the cars and we agree a maximum bid together.
- We bid at the auction. If we win, you pay by T/T to our company account.
- We collect the car, cancel its registration for export and file the export declaration (수출신고필증).
- We book Ro-Ro or container shipping and send you the Bill of Lading and all documents.
What the total cost is made of
Your total cost is the winning bid, the auction fee, our service fee, inland transport to the port, export clearance and ocean freight. We quote each item separately before you bid, so there are no surprises later.

Inspection & history check
We check the car in person, review the official performance check report and insurance accident history, and send you photos and video.

Purchase & export deregistration
After your approval and payment (T/T), we buy the car and cancel its Korean registration for export.

Export customs clearance
We file the export declaration with Korea Customs and issue the Export Declaration Certificate (수출신고필증, the 'export licence').

Shipping & documents
We book Ro-Ro or container space from Incheon, Pyeongtaek or Busan and send the Bill of Lading, export certificate, invoice and packing list.

Can foreigners buy directly at Korean car auctions?
Bidding at Korean dealer auctions is generally limited to registered dealers. Overseas buyers buy through a licensed exporter like Auto Mina, who bids on their behalf.
How often are Korean car auctions held?
The big dealer auctions run weekly, each on its own sale days, so there is a fresh selection every week.
Can I see the auction sheet before bidding?
Yes. We send photos and a translated auction sheet with the condition grade and panel diagram for every car you are interested in.
Is buying at auction always cheaper?
Often, but not always — prices are set by live bidding. We also compare dealer stock so you get the best car for your money.
Which documents do I receive?
Bill of Lading, Export Declaration Certificate (수출신고필증), deregistration certificate, commercial invoice, packing list, and the inspection report and photos.
